Nutrition And Back Pain: A Good Diet For A Healthy Back

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

Depending on what your diet looks like, it may be contributing to back pain and inflammation. There are many foods that have been proven to reduce and increase back pain. Nutritionist Dr. Nicole Gopaul at Natural Care Chiropractic knows first-hand the importance of a good diet and being pain free. She can help with any questions patients may have about being healthier and feeling better.  Starting with a mostly plant-based diet combined with fish such as salmon, trout, and other cold water fish is a healthy recipe for success in limiting back inflammation. Processed foods and saturated fats are something to avoid as they are likely to increase inflammation and weight gain.

Healthy foods are essential to feeling as good as possible and anything that is green is going to help your cause. Other foods such as nuts, carrots, cherries, watermelon combined with lean proteins such as turkey and chicken all offer plenty of nutrients and are beneficial. The nice thing about eating fruits and veggies is so many of them are easy to travel with and snack on throughout the day and don’t require an oven or microwave.
